Det beste med DoD er at Hugo Games gjengen ikke har rørt spillet. Derfor blir det en mega suksess.
Får håpe de får et eksternt studio til å gjøre ferdig DJ også

Two days after the launch of doda

  1. Mixed reactions, some people are enjoying it, some others do not like the differences with the previous game (say that it is “a different kind of game”). The ranking has slightly improved. I do however highly believe in a silent majority. The ones who do not like it all write immediatly a very long review of how much they dislike certain stuff, the other people remain silent and enjoy the game. These should start to rate the game after a few days or weeks.
  2. Most important gamebreaking bugs are resolved
  3. Do not look at the forums or chat of the game, the place to be is their discord (https://discordapp.com/channels/530088116485095437/530088117072560150), where people are very active. Approx 350 people have been active on this discord chat the last days. So people are involved
  4. I do believe in the game, the developeres are reacting very good on issues, prioritizing the most urgent ones.

28-2019 5th Planet Games A/S - H1 2019 financial report

COPENHAGEN, September 25th, 2019: 5th Planet Games A/S’ (OAX: FIVEPG) has today released the half-yearly financial report for H1 2019, with below key figures: i)Revenue in H1 2019 was DKK 3.4m, up from DKK 2.7m in H1 2018. Revenue was primarily generated from the casino games as well as the original “Dawn of the Dragons”. ii)Operating expenses amounts to DKK 14.4m in H1 2019 compared to DKK 16.1m in H1 2018. The reduction in OPEX is primarily driven by reduced marketing activities, the close-down of the UK based activities and savings on the share-based payment program. iii)EBITDA before special items was a loss of DKK 11.4m in H1 2019 compared to a loss of DKK 13.5m in H1 2018 For 5th Planet Games, the primary focus in the first half of 2019 has been on the development of our two key titles, Dawn of the Dragons: Ascension, which was released on Kartridge on August 27th 2019, and the mobile game based on the Adventures of Tintin, which is scheduled for release in March 2020. On top of Dawn of the Dragons: Ascension, we will have additional 2 game launches in 2H 2019, - Hugo’s Adventures (casino game) and the Doodle Jump sequel. About 5th Planet Games: 5th Planet Games is a mobile games developer and publisher located in Copenhagen, Berlin and Rocklin, CA. We cooperate with strong IP´s as the Adventures of Tintin and premium sports brands as FC Barcelona, Liverpool FC, Paris St. Germain and Cristiano Ronaldo. They have serious challenges in the future; seriously they need to make money and I hope that they will be able to have at least doubled their revenues this half year (with stable expenses) and be profitable H1 2020.

Launch of DOD ascension on android and ios today! I do like the fact that it is published in the google app store; gives us better reviews (way more and from a more general audience-less ‘geeky’ than Kartridge). Moreover it gives insights in the amount of downloads. Now at 50.000 + (next hurdle 100.000, then 500.000, then 1.000.000 and if it becomes a real hit… 5.000.000 :-p).

New update for hugo troll race 2. https://www.facebook.com/hugo.net/videos/671167256710585/ . Do not expect something big, but anyways, with some small work back again at the top of the minds of the audience, And because the game isn’t out-dated yet I could see some new players would start playing the game. Great that they start keeping their game portfolio up-to-date (they should have done this earlier).

Oké guys here is my opinion on the future of this company:

  1. DoD ascension gets mixed reviews. I do understand the critique of ‘paywall’. The ingame purchases are very expensive. But apparently there are people willing to spend a lot of money on this game. I do think that 5PG will be able to succesfully monetize this game. The multiplatform approach will enable 5PG to address a very large audience, but in the end I expect this game to only interest a more ‘elitist’ group of gamers with a lot of money to spend in the long term. Nevertheless if this hard core group of gamers keeps on spending a lot of money on the game, it will generate lots of cash. I do not worry a lot about the mixed reviews at this point in time. It is very common to see these this days for RPG’s with a very critical audience who exagerate (they have to pay to much- one star, they do not like a character-one star,…). I do also like their approach for the launch; collect negative reviews for their alpha stage game on Kartridge (a platform nobody cares about), before launching it on Steam (the only platform pc-gamers do care about). There, they will collect better reviews from the start on.
  2. Doodle jump is finished by an external company. Looking forward to it! If the launch is a success, I do expect a turn in the shareprice. Doodle jump should adress a very large audience (the opposite of dod a). Especially young people. Pricing should not be to high for this game as it should attract a lot of children. Moreover only a small percentage of the people playing this game will spend money on it.
  3. Tintin is the most important one. It is a very well known character with a loyal fanbase. The game will be pricewise (regarding ingame purchases) in between doodle jump and dod a. The target audience is older (people in their 20s-40s), mid class and likes or liked to read the comics of tintin. These are not hard core gamers, but will spend some money on the game.
  4. Kings of soccer is dead, Vikings probably also :frowning:

Overall I do expect 5PG to make some money (I think the stock will rise somewhere in between 3-5 NOK). The first results will be there at the end of the year, with three games released (hugo casino, dod a and doodle jump). I do expect dod a to generate money at full speed in H1, whereas hugo casino and doodle jump should perform directly.

Do you have a source on Vikings out?

No source, but I suppose it is dead. The management avoids the topic at all cost in most of the recent reports.
