Edda Wind ASA: Q3 2023 – Another quarter with growth

14 November 2023 – Edda Wind’s activities are gradually increasing with Edda Boreas starting her operations at Dogger Wind farm from July 2023. During Q3, Edda Wind has had five vessels in operation and the company delivered consolidated revenue of EUR 11.8m, representing 59% growth vs. Q3 2022 and the best quarter since its inception. In addition, Edda Nordri was delivered from the yard in September 2023 and will be ready for operations in Q4.

With a fleet to count fourteen vessels, including vessels under construction, Edda Wind is the leading C/SOV-operator in the market. Edda Wind is experiencing a favorable demand outlook for C/SOV despite announced delays and setbacks within the supply chain. Edda Wind also notes that delays and unscheduled work at the wind farms result in additional work for CSOVs.

There is a limited amount of available vessels, including vessels under construction in the coming years, and vessel demand is estimated to significantly outgrow supply. Edda Wind has built up strong relations with the key operators in the market and is always invited to participate in the actual tenders and vessel requirements being issued. The contract backlog was EUR 415m at the end of the quarter. This, combined with several newbuilds uncommitted and able to secure work in a market with great demand for this type of vessels, positions Edda Wind to capitalise on the expected growth in the quarters and years to come.

New EUR 161 million green term loan facility agreement

Reference is made to the stock exchange announcement by Edda Wind ASA (“Edda Wind” or the “Company”) on 2 March 2023 regarding the ordering of four commissioning service operation vessels (“CSOV”) newbuilds to be built by Vard Group. Edda Wind is today pleased to announce that the Company has entered into a green term loan facility agreement for the pre- and postdelivery financing of the four vessels under construction at Vard.

The agreement is a EUR 161 million green loan facility with Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Danske Bank A/S, DNB Bank ASA and SpareBank 1 SR-Bank ASA, with expiry in 2029 and a profile of 12 years. The facility corresponds to a leverage ratio of 60% of the ready for sea cost of the vessels.

Spår kjemperally i Fredriksen-selskap
Aksjekursen til Intergrated Wind Service (IWS) er opp 39 prosent så langt i år. Til sammenligning er John Fredriksen-dominerte Edda Wind ned 13 prosent. På aksjonærlisten til Edda Wind ligger John Fredriksen på en andreplass med 24 millioner aksjer til en verdi på 582 millioner kroner. Her spår Olaisen et kjemperally.
Hvorfor er det så stor spread?
– Det er spesielt at det er så stor forskjell mellom de to. Begge driver med det samme og Edda har allerede fått levert båter, så de er i så måte egentlig litt foran IWS i løypa – helt riktig at IWS har gått så bra, men det burde ikke være så stor forskjell, mener han.
Så det er større oppside i Edda Wind?
– Jeg tror det kan bli et kjemperally i Edda Wind, sier Olaisen og legger til:
– Det kan bli et godt år for IWS, men et veldig bra år for kursutviklingen til Edda. Aksjen har lagget veldig.

Vessel system upgrades to implement robust solutions

Haugesund, 2 February 2024: Edda Wind ASA (“Edda Wind” or the “Company”) has previously reported challenges related to delivery of the gangway systems. The first system came into operation in March 2023 and the company has now four of the new systems in operation in the fleet.

Edda Wind has experienced technical challenges with these systems which have been dealt with during regular operation. To overcome this situation and ensure that the systems are achieving the expected reliability and performance, Edda Wind has decided to take two vessels out of operation to implement robust solutions to the various issues. This will involve that Edda Breeze and Edda Brint are taken out of operation until beginning of March 2024 to do repairs and modifications of the gangway systems. Edda Passat will serve as substitute vessel for Edda Breeze during this period. Other than loss of revenue Edda Wind does not expect to incur significant capital expenditure in relation to the upgrade.

Following these system upgrades, the vessels are expected to demonstrate improved reliability and utilization. Similar system enhancements aimed at improving reliability and utilization are also expected to be carried out on other selected vessels in the Edda Wind fleet throughout 2024. The timing of these upgrades will be strategically scheduled and is not expected to result in many days offhire for the selected vessels.

Sale of Edda Passat

Haugesund, 9 February 2024: Edda Wind ASA (“Edda Wind” or the “Company”) today announces that the Company, through its subsidiary West Energy AS, has entered into a sale and purchase agreement regarding the sale of all outstanding shares in Puerto de Calella S.L., the registered owner of the vessel Edda Passat. The transaction is expected to take place during mid March 2024.

The proceeds from the sale will be used for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of outstanding debt related to Edda Passat.
