Enigma har en “ask me anything” på reddit i dag, her er noen av spørsmålene og svarene jeg finner interessante.

Where do you see yourself in after august 2018? What have you accomplished then?
We have a running second-layer network that is interoperable with Ethereum, allowing you to run smart contracts with privacy (=secret contracts). At this point, anyone would be able to join the network and run an Enigma node. Nodes will need to stake tokens, so they can be properly rewarded/penalized if the follow/break protocol. Our goal is to onboard 3 promising dApp projects to build on top of Enigma by then, using its secret contracts capabilities. Currently, no one truly thinks about limitations around privacy. Enigma expects to be the go-to project for any computation that requires privacy or any dApp that handle sensitive data.
What are your plans on getting more uses for Enigma?
On the protocol side, we’re focused on business development efforts by the team. Nodes will be run by the community.
On the data marketplace demand side, we’re beginning with scaling the Catalyst userbase, who will provide demand for cryptofinancial data. We already have more than 10,000 users on Catalyst, and it is growing daily.
Catalyst is gaining new users every day. We have an extremely active community at our Discord channel. We are getting a lot of inbound interest, most encouragingly from institutional investors to set up Catalyst for their crypto-investment operations. We are confident to say that Catalyst is the most sophisticated open source trading tool in the market.
On the data marketplace supply side, again this is a business development effort by the team and community. We have seen increasing interest from cryptofinancial data suppliers who see the value in Catalyst and our marketplace.
How are you planing to convince potential partner companies to invest and use the enigma token instead of using one of the other existent tokens?
Enigma offers a unique value-propositon: to run secret smart contracts on Ethereum. Right now it is not possible to build a dApp that touches sensitive data and still protect that data at the same time. This is a big limiting factor for a lot of the projects. That is the biggest reason why potential partners would build on top of us.
We are talking to dApp developers and they see the value. Let’s say you are building a decentralized protocol for sharing economy, say Uber. How do you make sure that no one is able to see the location of the driver and the rider? You can’t ensure this in Ethereum.
Which potential companies would be a good fit for a partnership from your point of view (dream partnerships) ?
We believe dApps are the most natural partners for the Enigma protocol. While we remain blockchain agnostic in the long run, our primary focus is the Ethereum developer ecosystem. We are in conversation with almost all relevant dApp projects that require privacy on their database.
What are the plans for marketing? Do you have anyone managing public relations (someone who would be managing the social media/reddit/twitter etc) to keep up with the updates?
Global presence. We want to expand awareness in Asia (including visiting in person), and we will be attending and speaking at many more conferences to share our vision. Let us know if you want to help here!
I tillegg nevner de ny nettside + mer videoer og forklaringer samt høyere tilstedeværelse i media + forklare/belære om viktigheten av privacy i blockchain.
Do I understand it correctly that the Engima protocol theoretically could be applied to any type of blockhain currently in existence and in the foreseeable future? If yes, how could Bitcoin, Ethereum and Omisego theoretically benefit from Enigma? If not, could you explain this in more detail and give some examples of blockchains it can and cannot be applied to?
That’s correct. Our goal has always been to be blockchain agnostic - it’s mentioned in our 2015 whitepaper as well. For any blockchain, you would obviously need to create a bridge between the Enigma second-layer network and the main chain, which amounts to properly interfacing with and interacting with nodes of that chain. We believe our partnership with AION, as well as others, will help reduce the time it takes to achieve that.
The benefit of Enigma’s protocol would extend to every chain. Where we help other chains is by keeping the data private/encrypted at all times, which is one of the biggest problems in the space. It would also help them in running heavy computations instantly.
