Well honestly, no surprise there. Although the screenshot looks dope here, the E3 version looked absolutely freaking awful…The game needs sooooo much more work

Honestly, this is one of very few games coming out in the next year or so that I’m cautiously optimistic about. I say good for them to take an extra 4 months and get core systems stable and basic functionality in place. It always felt like it was going to be shoved out the door into EA because Funcom needed the money it would generate. Now that the funding issues are much less pressing for the company, giving Exiles a bit more love to make it really successful down the road is a great thing.

This is a very important title for funcom I think. It is best to wait and make sure they release in a stable state. Imo developers need to realize the impact of releasing unstable games even on early access.
It is best to make your game stable and then add content and fix bugs resulting from that, not bugs resulting for a poorly implemented code base and or engine.

Seriously though, they should have picked another name and not pick a name that comes a few light years close to “CONAN”, because believe me, NO ONE has forgotten about the last title, lol.
Just peaked at the website, “An Open World Survival game” … lol, the game is dead before even being released, this reinforces MORE the idea of not putting the name “CONAN” in the game title to give the game a chance.

I once drank the Funcom Koolaid. It ended like Jonestown. Everyone eventually left and the company nearly tanked. One thing I have learned about Funcom is they never launch anything right. Their games are usually a mess, undermarketed, and lacking advertised features. The good news is they eventually get things fixed and improve things; usually after the majority of the player base has moved on.
The is the exact opposite way to play in MMO land where fortunes are made in the first 60 days or so. Hopefully, they have learned.

Phew, what a relief !
The E3 trailer for Exiles looked really dire, and my hopes for the game sank through the floor, given that EA launch was supposedly 3 months away.
Funcom has really great MMO concepts, but their launches seem to doom every one of their projects to obscurity. You cannot recover from a bad MMO launch, no game ever has.

H1Z1, Ark Survival shows that somehow there is a large playerbase for these kinds of titles. Even Rust has 30k people playing it right now through steam.
