Update on volume growth

With reference to the stock exchange announcement dated January 3rd, an update on premium growth for 2023 and the January 1st, 2024 renewal date follows.

January 1st have had significant impact on the premium growth historically. However, as a significant part of the growth currently comes from the UK, which has a different inception pattern, the January 1st renewal date gradually becomes less significant.

PREMIUM VOLUME FULL YEAR (FY) & QUARTER FOUR (Q4) 2023
FY 2023 gross written premium (GWP) came in at MNOK 10,423, up 47% (37% in local currencies (LCY)) relative to 2022. Insurance revenue amounted to MNOK 9,406, up 42% (32% in LCY).

In Q4 2023 GWP amounted to MNOK 2,060, up 62% (48% in LCY) relative to Q4 2022. Insurance revenue amounted to MNOK 2,670, up 50% (38% in LCY). UK makes up 68% of total growth in GWP this quarter.

PREMIUM VOLUME INCEPTING JANUARY 1ST 2024
January 1st, 2024, GWP growth was 16% in LCY relative to 2023. The growth is driven by a high renewal rate in all units. In the UK, January is a small volume month.

Highlights 2023:
Protector Forsikring ASA recorded a profit of NOK 1509.3m (1 379.0) for 2023. The insurance service result was NOK 1 079.9m (700.8), corresponding to a combined ratio of 88.5% (89.4). The total return on investments including insurance finance was 944.2m (1 084). The return on investments excluding insurance finance was 7.9% (3.4).

In 2023, gross written premiums ended at NOK 10 423m, up 47% (37 % in local currencies) relative to 2022.

Highlights Q4 2023:
Protector Forsikring ASA recorded a profit of NOK 675.8m (613.2) for the fourth quarter. The insurance service result was NOK 361.1m (166.7), corresponding to a combined ratio of 86.4% (90.6). The total return on investments including insurance finance was 504.3m (546.1). The return on investments excluding insurance finance was 5.1% (4.6).

In Q4, gross written premiums amounted to NOK 2 060m, up 62% (48% in local currencies) relative to Q4 2022.

The Board has, in accordance with the mandate received from the Annual General Meeting in 2023, decided to distribute a special dividend of NOK 412.2m, corresponding to NOK 5.00 per share. The payment will take place on 14 February 2024.

The SCR-ratio was 195% (195) year-end, post dividend.
