Klara Lise Aasen (48) from Toten has today accepted the position as Group CEO of SpareBank 1 Østlandet. She replaces Richard Heiberg, who will retire on 1 April 2024. Aasen becomes the first female Group CEO in the bank’s 178-year long history.
"Since early this autumn, the Board of Directors has worked to find the successor of Heiberg, considering several strong candidates along the way. A unanimous Board was behind the choice of Klara Lise Aasen as the successor to bring SpareBank 1 Østlandet into a new era” says Siri J. Strømmevold, chair of the Board of SpareBank 1 Østlandet.

Klara Lise Aasen is a state authorized public accountant from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen. She has long and broad experience from the banking sector, including roles as CEO, CFO, and head of credit and financial risk control in listed financial institutions such as Bank Norwegian, DNB, and Nordea. She has also been member of the Board of Directors of Veidekke. She joins SpareBank 1 Østlandet from the position as Executive Vice President in Corporate Banking in DNB.

At the same time, she believes in creating organizations characterized by trust, where employees are seen and given responsibility” says Board chair Strømmevold.
Aasen becomes the first female Group CEO in the 178-year long history of SpareBank 1 Østlandet. She is originally from Skreia, in Eastern Toten, but now lives in Haslum outside of Oslo and has two grown children.

Klara Lise Aasen will start in her new position as Group CEO on 1 April 2024.
