HOUSTON, Texas (18 May 2021) - Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) and TGS-NOPEC
Geophysical ASA (OSLO: TGS) today announced a collaboration to bring advanced
seismic imaging to fiber optic sensing. The alliance will provide operators with
advanced insight to determine their reservoir potential for oil and gas
production or carbon storage. The Halliburton FiberVSP™ and Odassea™ distributed
acoustic sensing solutions will now incorporate TGS’s seismic imaging workflows
that process the entire seismic wavefield to generate high-resolution reservoir
images.

“We are excited to transform vertical seismic profiling to a full-field,
digital, and intervention-less surveillance solution,” said Trey Clark, vice
president of Wireline and Perforating. “Through our collaboration with TGS, we
can now enable real-time monitoring of production across an entire field,
allowing our customers to make better decisions and increase ultimate recovery.”

“This solution enables enhanced reservoir understanding for our customers with a
lower total cost of ownership relative to conventional 4D seismic,” said Jan

joint venture with an additional 10,000 square kilometers of 3D coverage
offshore Newfoundland.

The survey covers existing lease blocks and open acreage in the prospective
Orphan Basin. The Orphan Basin has, among others, potential Cretaceous and
Tertiary infill depocentres. The data acquired and processed will include
Kirchhoff 3D PSTM volumes, and PGS’ Ramform Titan will perform the long offset
acquisition, utilizing Geostreamer® technology.

with the highest quality data in advance of scheduled lease rounds. The Cape
Anquille 3D survey will be instrumental in assessing potential prospects that

Fast Track Kirchhoff PSTM stacks are scheduled to be delivered by November
2021. Final Kirchhoff PSTM stacks are expected to be delivered to TGS Data by
March 2022

Hipp Creek 3D will add nearly 200 square kilometers of high-quality seismic data
tying into existing TGS 3D seismic coverage within their core area of the
Montney Basin. As a part of the Company’s sustainability efforts, the
acquisition of this survey enacts a dramatic reduction in environmental
footprint using advanced acquisition design and recording technology. Phase III
of TGS’ low-impact source testing will also be applied throughout the project,
further advancing the Company’s goals for setting benchmarks in lowering
environmental footprints. Total fuel consumption for all equipment will be
measured throughout the Hipp Creek 3D program and used to drive down emissions
for future projects.

Additionally, TGS Canada was recently awarded a Certificate of Recognition,
achieving a score of 98%, from the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships
in conjunction with the Government of Alberta. The recognition emphasizes TGS’
focus and clear commitment related to the Health and Safety of its contractors
and employees and the Company’s efforts to perform all field operations with the
highest standards and sustainability in all areas in which it works, including
the Hipp Creek program.

the market conditions for multi-client seismic data continues to be very
challenging, and there are no signs of substantial improvements in the near-
term. However, based on dialogue with our largest customers we remain confident

business model, robust balance sheet and strong cash flow enable us to take
advantage of strategic opportunities, both in the subsurface data area and in

• Following recent notification from The Financial Supervisory Authority of
  Norway (Finanstilsynet) TGS will from 2021 increase emphasis on IFRS in its
  financial reporting to the market. The Company will continue to provide segment
  information for historic comparison and as alternative performance measures of
  the business as such measures are commonly used throughout the industry, and
  TGS’ management believes they better reflect the ongoing activity in projects-
  in-progress. The main difference between IFRS and Segment reporting relates to
  revenue recognition. Under IFRS revenue recognition generally is deferred until
  project completion and delivery to the customer when performance obligations are
  met. Under Segment reporting, net revenue from projects-in-progress is
  recognized based on Percentage of Completion (POC). Revenue recognition has

multi-client 3D survey commencing in October in the Sarawak Basin, offshore
Malaysia.

The survey is the first phase of a multi-year contract awarded by Petronas in
2020 through competitive bidding to acquire and process up to 105,000 square
kilometers of multi-client 3D data over a 5-year period in the Basin.

The first phase of the survey will be acquired by PGS’ Ramform Sovereign using
multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology and is expected to take approximately 4
months.

The survey area covers acreage included in the Malaysia Bid Round 2021 and fast-
track results will be delivered in time for block evaluation. Future acquisition
phases are subject to securing sufficient pre-funding.

Q2 2021.

Net IFRS revenues amounted to USD 72 million in Q2 2021, an increase of 9%
compared to Q2 2020 and USD 7 million higher than the preliminary earnings
update July 8(th). EBITDA was USD 50 million, and the operating result was USD
-15 million, compared to USD 27 million and USD -97 million, respectively, in Q2
2020.

Net segment revenues (1) amounted to USD 54 million in Q2 2021, compared to USD
96 million in Q2 2020. Segment EBITDA was USD 32 million versus USD 56 million
in the same quarter of 2020, while the segment operating result amounted to USD
-25 million, compared to USD -85 million in Q2 2020.

Free-cash flow (2) amounted to USD 18 million in Q2 2021, up from USD -10
million in Q2 2020. After shareholder distribution of USD 20 million and
spending USD 24 million in relation to mergers & acquisitions, the cash balance
totaled USD 223 million at 30 June 2021.

The solid financial position allows TGS to maintain the quarterly dividend at
USD 0.14 per share and continue its share repurchase program with a remaining
value of up to USD 14 million.
