Funcom is looking for experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to become producer for the Oslo studio.
A Producer is a project leader with both creative and project management responsibilities, responsible for leading a whole game project.
The producer is responsible for meeting quality, budget and performance targets, and managing priorities in order to deliver a competitive end product. Responsibilities include scheduling and budgeting, task and people management, providing feedback on quality and gameplay, and taking control of the development and production process from design concept through to finished product. As leader of the team management group, the producer answers directly to the VP of Digital Products, and works closely with the creative director and project manager to set goals and track progress.
The candidate should have at least five years of experience in the industry, and will preferably have worked on at least one major title in a lead or management position. Specific examples of creative and managerial participation required.
The Producer will initially assist ongoing projects for a period of time before assuming the responsibility of a full project.
Primary responsibilities:
Lead and manage the team’s middle managers and creative leads.
Review and evaluate progress and content, and provide feedback and suggestions to the team
Facilitate and drive team communication at all levels
Maintain project management documents, including status reports and project plans
Continuously review and improve management and development processes
Secondary responsibilities:
Present and sell the game, both internally and externally
Submit progress and quality reports to senior company management
Required skills:
5+ years of industry experience, preferably in a lead/management position
Thorough familiarity with the process of making a top quality game, including art, programming and design pipelines
Professional communication skills and a natural ability to motivate others
Exceptional organizational and scheduling skills
Excellent attention to detail and an ability to complete tasks on time
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
Experience working in a large team and communicating with designers, artists, programmers, PR/marketing and QA
A willingness to provide, receive and respond to feedback
An ability to exercise good independent judgment and discretion, and an eagerness to learn and adapt to new working methods
Broad knowledge and understanding of major current and past online games and RPGs
Complementary skills:
Hands-on experience with game design, gameplay scripting, modding and game editors
Extensive PC and console play experience, specifically RPGs
