OSUN: SPIC has commissioned world’s first offshore wind and floating solar powerplant in, Shandong, China, utilizing the patented Ocean Sun technology

The world’s largest PV asset owner, State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC),
has commissioned the world’s first commercial offshore floating photovoltaic
(FPV) power plant. The power plant, which is designed by Ocean Sun and utilizes
Ocean Sun’s patented technology is also the first FPV integrated with offshore
wind. Thus its successful implementation unlocks the potential of hybrid
offshore powerplants greatly increasing efficiency and reducing LCOE.

The successful project funded by SPIC and constructed using the Ocean Sun
solution shows how the common goal of reducing greenhouse CO2 emissions will be
achieved with development across borders. We are excited to continue working

The two floaters, with installed capacity of 0.5 MWp, are connected to the
transformer on a SPIC-owned wind turbine and then connected to the power grid
through the submarine cable of the wind farm. After completion of the pilot
period and full technical and economic demonstration, it is planned to promote
the use of Ocean Sun’s technology to build a floating wind-solar photovoltaic
project with a total capacity of 20MW in 2023.

Ref innlegget under i det saksøkte firmaets tråd.
Det står i Q3 rapporten at Shandong kan utvides til å bli 20 MW i løpet av 2023 om det første anlegget overlever stormsesongen. Ellers går det mot 1 MW installsjon i Yantai og 1+1 MW i Singapore i løpet av året.
Første trigger er komplettering av floater 2-3-4 i Banja som etter planen skal bli ferdig ila. Desember.
Project update
The project in Shandong is the world’s first commercial
offshore FPV plant and the first ever FPV integrated with
offshore wind. Owned by SPIC, and constructed by Sunneng
Technologies, the system started commercial operations on
the 31 of October after a two weeks construction period.
The two floaters were constructed onshore and towed 30 km
off coast to its final position where the mooring was installed.
Once the test period is completed, the intention is to connect
floating solar to other wind turbines at this location. Pending
successful results, the accumulated capacity of Ocean Sun
FPV will be 20 MWp in 2023.Project details

two floaters with a combined capacity of 0.5 MWp. It is
located in the Yellow Sea, 30km of the coast of Hayiang in the
Shandong province and connected to an offshore wind
turbine coupled to the land based grid. The Shandong
Province has plans for 42 GWp of off
shore solar in the next few years.
Det er vanskelig å estimere inntjening. I Q3 hadde de 1.1 MNOK inntekter som følge av lisensbetaling for 2 (små) flytere til SPIC og også noe til MP Quantum både lisens og timer til support. Worst case ligger vi på 0.5 MNOK per MW tenker jeg - det skulle tilsi inntekter neste år som i beste fall kan tilsvare samme beløp som årets negative resultat. Jeg tipper på breakeven i løpet av 2024.

PV Magazine skriver litt om flytende solkraft, og Ocean Sun nevnes så vidt:
Er Ocean Sun på billigsalg?
- De brenner lite penger, og bør klare seg i minst to år på dagens beholdning (selv uten større salg).
- Har installert tre kommersielle piloter, og skal installere ytterligere tre i 2023. De vil da være til stede i Kina x 2, Singapore x 2, Albania og Filippinene.
- Kapitallett modell med utlisensiering av teknologi. Kan dermed oppnå svært hyggelige marginer når salget etter hvert begynner å ta av.
- Flytende solkraft forventes å oppleve en voldsom vekst frem mot 2030, og det er sannsynligvis få (om noen?) som slår OSUN på LCOE.
- Flere innsidekjøp i løpet av høsten.

Første fullskala anlegg kommer neste år. Blir et gjennombrudd med 20MW mot kun pilotanlegg til nå. Om guiding fra tidligere gjelder vil det si ca 10 mill inntekt. Ikke allverden, men er i hovedsak lisensbasert, så bør være hyggelig margin. Viktigere er nok at man ser reelle steg frem.

OSUN er valgt ut til å delta på Energy Starter - et innovasjonsprogram i regi av EDP, som er en betydelig aktør innen fornybar energi.
“The program connects startups and scaleups to EDP experts across the globe and fast-tracks the development of pilot-projects, commercial deployments and investment opportunities.”
Neste steg: Ocean Sun skal delta på bootcamp i EDP Renewables kontorer i Houston, Texas, sammen med flere lovende startups.

Gode muligheter for 20 MW i Kina, men tipper de trenger litt tid til å evaluere piloten.
Har det vært snakk om å utvide anlegget i Albania utover disse 2 MW?

Nei ikke som jeg finner. Men det kan vel kanskje bli enda flere avtaler med Statkraft om prosjektet i Albania tilfredsstiller ?
Spennende selskap dette. Bare å nyte denne på Billigsalg for øyeblikket. Risk/ reward ser bra ut ihvertfall et år pr frem i tid. De trenger ikke noen Emisjon dette året ihvertfall.
