Open Question to Photocure IR: Time to Clear the Fog Ahead of Q3?
As a Photocure shareholder, it is incredibly painful to witness the stock price meltdown we have endured so far this year. The stock has plummeted over 30% in 2026, dragging us down into the 49 NOK range. The long-term trend chart looks completely broken, and market confidence appears virtually nonexistent. While management remains quietly at the helm, we retail investors are left absorbing the blow of poor communication and complete lack of transparency.
There are three critical pain points the market desperately needs clarity on. This information vacuum must be resolved by the time the Q3 financial report is presented.
- The Asieris-Theramex Deal: What Do âBillion-Dollar Dealsâ Actually Mean for Us?
Recently, it was announced that our partner Asieris entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Theramex for CEVIRA (APL-1702) covering Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Turkey. Market reports indicate this is a massive deal worth up to $250 million (roughly 2.7 billion NOK) in total value, including a $15 million upfront payment.
My question to IR is blunt: How can our partner land an international milestone deal of this scale, while Photocure fails to clarify to its own investors what this actually means for our bottom line? Instead of solid projections, we are stuck watching a bitter legal arbitration over an $11 million milestone payment, where Asieris is actively demanding back what they already paid us. Watching our partner celebrate multi-million dollar global rollouts while Photocure squabbles in court over breadcrumbsâunable to articulate the direct financial upside for Photocureâs shareholdersâis a terrible look. What are our actual royalty percentages and milestone cuts from this Theramex deal?
- Total Silence Around AssureMDx and ADLT Status â Has the Project Failed?
Following the acquisition of Vesica Health, Photocure brought the urine-based genomic test AssureMDx into its portfolio with lofty promises of disrupting the massive US market. Since that announcement, however, there has been an absolute radio silence.
We are still waiting on the critical ADLT status (Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory Test) from CMS in the US, which dictates the reimbursement levels vital to the productâs commercial survival. Given the lack of updates, the question must be asked: Has AssureMDx failed to achieve ADLT status? If the regulatory path has hit a wall or suffered significant delays, the market has a right to know. Tucking bad news under the rug is not an option.
- A Bonus Program Completely Disconnected from Net Results
Shareholders are sick and tired of looking at the executive bonus schemes. It feels like the executive leadership team (ELT) magically achieves near-perfect KPI completion and fat payouts year after year, yet none of this executive âsuccessâ translates to the bottom line for the people funding the company.
Letâs look at the hard financial facts: our quarterly and annual results continue to bleed red ink while management compensation remains heavily protected. In Q2 2026, Photocure delivered a negative Net Earnings of -0.7 million NOK and an operating loss (EBIT) of -9.4 million NOK. Despite this, the board recently adjusted the long-term incentive structures so that outstanding management options can dilute shareholders by up to 11% of the entire companyâs share capital!
If the executive team truly believes in the future of Photocure and the current pipeline, they should be deploying their own capital to buy shares directly in the open market at these historically depressed prices. Instead, we are essentially financing a leadership group that dilutes existing shareholders and rewards itself with options as if they are delivering stellar profitability, while we are left holding the bag on capital losses. This disconnect needs to end.
Put the Cards on the Table at Q3
This persistent lack of corporate communication and weak governance is the primary reason the stock price is stuck rotting at multi-year lows. Those of us who have deployed hard capital into this company expectâand demandâthat management uses the upcoming Q3 presentation to clear the air.
We want concrete, itemized guidance on what the Asieris-Theramex deal delivers to Photocure, a clear update on the legal arbitration, an honest status report on AssureMDx in the US, and a justifiable explanation for why executive bonuses are preserved while shareholders bleed out. Generic, boilerplate press releases will no longer suffice.
