Capsol Technologies ASA - Karbonfangst

Ekstremt lite FOMO her.

Kort sagt: 36 milliarder svenske kroner ligger i potten.

Nesten off-topic, men interessant for de interesserte.

Capsol awarded feasibility study by SUEZ for energy-from-waste plant in France
Capsol Technologies ASA has been awarded a feasibility study by SUEZ for an
energy-from-waste (EfW) plant in France.

A new energy-from-waste plant with carbon capture and storage (CCS) is planned
to be built in northern France, aiming to capture more than 150,000 tons of CO2
per year, of which approximately 50% of the CO2is biogenic, enabling negative
emissions.

The purpose of the feasibility study is to obtain key technical and cost inputs
for further development of the carbon capture solution for the EfW plant.

SUEZ is a leader in environmental services. Globally, the group recovers more
than 5 million tons of waste each year, turning it into 7.3 TWh of energy. SUEZ
has committed to achieve net zero by 2050, including a target of reducing scope
1 and 2 emissions by 46% by 2030.

Energy-from-waste is one of Capsol Technologies’ target segments. According to
estimates by the International Energy Agency (IEA), bioenergy with carbon
capture and storage (BECCS) will need to reach 190 million tons of CO2 per annum
by 2030 in the net zero emissions by 2050 scenario. Waste incineration with CCS
plays an important part in the roadmap to net zero by capturing and storing the
biogenic CO2 from household waste.

“When building a new energy-from-waste plant with integrated carbon capture it’s
possible to achieve negative emissions, as approximately half of the CO2 is
biogenic and therefore part of the natural carbon cycle. This makes it one of
the most impactful uses of our technology in advancing the transition to a net
zero future, and we are thrilled to partner with SUEZ on this important
project,” says Wendy Lam, CEO of Capsol Technologies.

Capsol Technologies’ traction within biomass and EfW to date:

· In total, Capsol Technologies has engineering studies and CapsolGo[®]
demonstration campaigns for EfW and biomass plants totaling a potential of more
than 7 million tons of CO2 to be captured annually.
· In July 2022, Capsol was awarded a license agreement for using CapsolEoP[®]
at Stockholm Exergi’s biomass-powered combined heat and power plant Värtaverket
in Stockholm, Sweden.
· In December 2023, Capsol was awarded a frame license agreement for using
CapsolEoP[®] at an EfW plant of a European utility.
· In March 2024, Capsol signed a preliminary license agreement for KVA Linth’s
EfW plant in Switzerland.
· Capsol has executed a CapsolGo[®] carbon capture demonstration campaign at
Öresundskraft’s EfW plant Filbornaverket in Helsingborg, Sweden.
· Capsol has executed a 12-month CapsolGo[® ]demonstration campaign for a
major German energy company, including a campaign on an EfW plant.
· Capsol has executed a CapsolGo[®] demonstration campaign at EEW’s EfW site
in Hannover, Germany.
· In October 2023, Capsol signed a contract for the delivery of two
CapsolGo[®] demonstration campaigns to be executed at Sumitomo SHI FW’s client
base. The first campaign has been completed at Växjö Energi AB’s Sandvik biomass
plant in Växjö while the second campaign commenced at Swedish Mälarenergi’s
combined heat and power (bio-CHP) plant in Västerås, Sweden, in November 2024.

Endre O. Sund (b. 1950), Chair of the Board at Capsol Technologies ASA, has notified the Nomination Committee that he will not seek re-election when his term concludes in 2025. Sund has been an integral part of Capsol’s growth journey since joining the Board of Directors in 2018 and serving as Chair since 2020.

“Over the past few years, we have commercialized carbon capture technologies that enable emitters to make CCS investments profitable, expanded internationally, and built a mature project pipeline with 15 million tons of annual CO2 capture potential. Earlier this year, we strengthened our leadership team by appointing Wendy Lam, a seasoned global executive with a strong track record of driving growth, as CEO. In June, we successfully uplisted to Euronext Oslo Børs, enhancing our visibility among international investors. By announcing my decision early, I aim to ensure a seamless transition and provide ample time for the Nomination Committee to identify a Chair equipped to lead Capsol into its next phase of global scaling,” said Sund.

The Nomination Committee, with support from Capsol’s international Advisory Board, will now begin the process of identifying Sund’s successor.

“We will conduct a thorough search to identify our next Chair. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leadership in fast-growing international technology companies, a strong industry network, and the strategic insight to support our management team in scaling Capsol Technologies and driving its global impact,” said Jan Kielland, Chairman of the Nomination Committee and member of the Advisory Board.

Tenker at han er 75 år når han går av. Så håper jeg de får inn en kompetent styreleder.

Sakser inn dagens børsmelding her:

"Capsol Technologies has signed a cooperation agreement with Holcim Group, a
global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions. The agreement
includes the delivery of a CapsolGo[®] carbon capture demonstration campaign at
a plant in southern Germany as the first step in a broader collaboration aimed
at decarbonizing Holcim’s global portfolio of industrial plants.

“This marks a significant milestone for Capsol Technologies as we initiate the
demonstration of our CapsolEoP[®] technology at a Holcim cement plant. We are
eager to collaborate closely with Holcim, showcasing our capability to
contribute to their ambitious climate targets,” says Philipp Staggat, Chief
Product Officer of Capsol Technologies.

Holcim Süddeutschland GmbH operates under the Holcim Group, which is present in
around 60 countries and employs over 60,000 people. As part of its efforts to
drive sustainability, Holcim has committed to deliver 8 million tons of fully
decarbonized cement per year by 2030. With sustainability at the core of its
strategy, Holcim has 2030 and 2050 net-zero targets validated by the Science
Based Targets initiative.

“This cooperation with Capsol Technologies reflects our commitment to
identifying and deploying the most suitable carbon capture technologies for
reducing emissions. The CapsolEoP® unit’s design, requiring no
external steam supply and exhibiting low energy consumption, makes it an
attractive option for our Dotternhausen plant,” says Dieter Schillo, Plant
Manager of Holcim (Süddeutschland) GmbH.

If the demonstration campaign at the Dotternhausen plant is successful, Holcim
Group would consider deploying Capsol’s carbon capture technology based on the
safe and proven Hot Potassium Carbonate (HPC) solvent at full-scale cement
plants across multiple sites.

As part of this agreement, the CapsolGo[®] demonstration campaign at the
Dotternhausen plant will be delivered as a turnkey solution, including testing
and validation services to provide Holcim with critical data and insights on
Capsol’s carbon capture technology.

This cooperation builds on an earlier engagement between the parties, including
a feasibility study completed with Capsol Technologies by Holcim Group’s
Aggregate Industries UK Ltd for its Cauldon cement plant in Stoke-on-Trent.

The delivery of the CapsolGo[®] unit is scheduled for Q2 2025, with testing set
to commence in late Q2 2025. The project will span 4 months."
