Elliptic Labs 2

I have been following this since March 2021 and it has never before looked this good. Especially considering the share price for what you get by buying today. Business fundamentals are improving quarter by quarter.

An article about Honor’s upcoming AI Connect:

https://www.androidpolice.com/cross-os-file-sharing-from-unexpected-source/

Some picks:

I’ve used Magic Ring, and it works well. The new AI Connect that enables all-ecosystem file-sharing seems to be trending down that same path. I saw the feature demoed at MWC, and while it requires a separate app to handle the transfer, the file was transferred without a hitch and did so quickly. Not only is Android to iOS possible, but Honor said it will soon expand this cross-OS file-sharing feature to macOS and Windows.

The existing Quick Share option sometimes works between Windows and Android. When it does, it almost feels like magic to quickly share files on my PC to my phone with only a couple of taps, no waiting for downloads and uploads, and no messing with cables. Just a smooth transfer. For many, adding macOS to the mix will be a game-changer in many ways.

AI Connect won’t solve the problem of sending files when you and your friends aren’t around each other, which is still a messaging problem. Honor’s solution to file sharing isn’t the only one trying to solve this cross-OS problem, but it will bring some features and consistency that those options can’t. This is primarily due to Honor’s longtime development of hardware and software and the collaborations with Google and Qualcomm. The next time you want to share a file with your iPhone friend, it will soon be easier and better quality.

Hopefully this has something to do with Elabs but let’s see. I think many OEMs would pursue for installing an app one time to allow for some blocking of some brands i.e. Samsung from the ecosystem. This could be one reason for this. Second could be maintaining privacy between the devices.

This is interesting from last fall:

Some picks:

Staying within a single ecosystem (such as Apple, Samsung, Android, or Windows) has perks, like seamless file transfers. Still, you may need to send files to different operating systems. For this, we rely on texting apps like WhatsApp or cloud services like Google Drive. Recently, I discovered the LocalSend app, which works across all major operating systems, including Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS. It’s the perfect alternative to Quick Share and AirDrop that I’ve been searching for.

Recently, I discovered the LocalSend app, which works across all major operating systems, including Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS. It’s the perfect alternative to Quick Share and AirDrop that I’ve been searching for.

The only limitation is that LocalSend requires both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network, as it uses local network connections rather than Bluetooth. This setup might be less convenient when you’re on the go, but it’s perfect for transferring files at home or in the office. If needed, you can use a mobile hotspot to create a local network and then use LocalSend.

So this was basically a free competitor which requires the devices to be in within same WiFi network etc. So this has nothing “new” whereas Elabs Seamless can do it without any existing connections etc.

One more:

Some picks here, not the whole article:

Sharing files between different operating systems, such as Android and iOS, is becoming easier with solutions such as Honor’s AI Connect. This technology allows data to be transferred quickly and securely, without the need for an internet connection. In addition, innovation in applications and platforms makes information exchange more efficient and accessible. Data security is guaranteed by encryption, allowing users to share their information without worry.

Honor’s AI Connect is an easy-to-use tool that connects Android and iOS devices. It lets you quickly share files like images, videos, and documents. This technology uses a Wi-Fi connection to transfer data, making it much faster than sending via text or email.

When you launch AI Connect , the app creates a network between your devices. This means you don’t need an internet connection. Simply select the file you want to share. Then choose the receiving device and you’re done. Your file will be sent in seconds.

While AirDrop uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to create a connection between Apple devices, AI Connect does the same thing but is designed to work with different operating systems. This means you can share files between an iPhone and an Android without any hassle.

Both tools are fast and secure, but they have their differences. AI Connect stands out for being inclusive, allowing more people to connect. With it, there is no need to worry about whether your friend has an Android or an iPhone. Just use the app, and file sharing happens in just a few taps.

The future of cross-OS sharing looks bright. As technology advances, the barriers between iOS and Android are becoming less and less common. This means that it will be easier to share files between users on different platforms.

Innovations in sharing apps are driving this change. Solutions like Honor’s AI Connect show how this is possible. They allow anyone to quickly send and receive files, regardless of the device they use.

Another trend is the growing adoption of open standards. These technologies allow developers to create applications with better sharing capabilities. The goal is to ensure that everyone can connect, without complications or limitations.

Security is also improving. More and more sharing tools are using strong encryption. This ensures that data remains protected during transfer. Both Android and iOS users can feel safe sharing their information.

Furthermore, the integration of artificial intelligence is making sharing more efficient. This will make it possible to transfer multiple files at the same time in a more organized way. The future seems to bring speed, security and simplicity for all users.

Do I need an internet connection to use AI Connect?

No, transferring files via AI Connect does not require an internet connection as it uses direct Wi-Fi between devices.

So the Honor AI Connect can create a wifi directly between the two devices. This is more advanced than the free competitor software in the second article above that requires same wifi to be in use (?).

The big question is if this is actually Elabs’ Seamless sensor in use OR wheter this is just Honor’s own software? Is it even possible to have a direct wifi between two devices (iOS and Android) unless Elabs technology is in play?
It’s plausible scenario that Elabs has something to do with this as they are already providing the proximity sensor and there was that PoC agreement from 2023. We’ll see.

Thanks for sharing  This is hopefully Elabs software.

Laila seemed to like my comment. Just the way she did last fall when I was predicting we would see Elabs/seamless on Intel Unison…which turned out to be correct.

Of course she cannot guarantee this years result, but she likely “mentally approves” and signals by doing this.

Very good to have a CEO that can give those small silent signals :+1::norway:

Spennende tider i alt kaoset!
