"My Polish source told me a very interesting story. Recently, a citizen of Belarus came to the office of one of the Polish security services. He said that he was recruited by the GRU of the General Staff of Russia (military intelligence) and sent to this country to meet with his curator.
He was supposed to carry out Moscow’s mission not in Poland, but in his native Belarus. This man underwent special training at a GRU camp on Russian territory, near Rostov-on-Don. The trip to Poland was necessary to create a “legend” - the agent was supposed to return to Belarus through the western border, creating the appearance of a “Polish trace” in the events planned by the GRU.
The most interesting thing is the agent’s assignment. He was tasked with organizing an assassination attempt on Lukashenko during the so-called elections in Belarus, which are scheduled to take place in January next year. Having completed the training and finding himself in the West, the agent quite reasonably suspected that, no matter the outcome of the GRU assignment, the Russians would liquidate him. He went to surrender to the Poles, who thoroughly vetted him and fully confirmed the information provided.
There is no moral to this story. Because its main characters and morals are in parallel realities."
