Men tiden vil vise (TTT).

Egentlig ganske spektakulært at kursen holdes såpass oppe helt uten nyheter

Bad GPT 4.5 om: "Find recent under communicated information, news and research about this company: Desert Control Group."

Vi visste nok mesteparten av dette, men uansett, her er det samlet i en post om ingenting annet :innocent:

Lesser-Known Recent Developments of Desert Control Group (2023–2025)

New Trials and Technological Innovations

  • University of Arizona Field Trials: An ongoing 5-year collaboration with the University of Arizona has been validating Desert Control’s Liquid Natural Clay (LNC) technology. Midterm results (after multiple crop cycles) show that LNC-treated plots can achieve comparable or higher crop yields while using 20–50% less irrigation water . In recent trials, cotton yields increased by ~32% and celery yields by ~56% under reduced watering with LNC, demonstrating improved resilience in arid conditions. Notably, LNC has been certified for organic farming (OMRI-listed), opening its use to organic agriculture. The study also highlighted that customized LNC formulations can be tailored to local soil/water conditions – an on-site mixing advantage that boosts effectiveness without causing soil hardening.
  • Enhanced Production & Application Technology: Desert Control achieved major efficiency gains in its LNC production and deployment systems. By late 2024, a next-generation LNC production unit prototype reached output speeds of 120,000 liters per hour , a several-fold increase enabling cost-effective, large-scale soil treatment operations. The company also integrated LNC application with existing irrigation systems , eliminating manual steps and reducing deployment costs. Advanced formulation improvements now allow using local water sources with higher salinity to produce LNC, which increases scalability in water-scarce regions. Moreover, LNC’s applicability has expanded beyond just sandy deserts – newer tests show it can improve a broader range of soil types, significantly growing the addressable market for this nanoclay technology. (A 2024 review in the journal Soil Systems singled out Desert Control’s LNC as an innovative solution for converting barren, sandy deserts into fertile farmland by improving soil moisture retention.)

Early-Stage Collaborations with Governments and NGOs

  • UN WFP Pilot in Iraq: In late 2024, Desert Control was selected for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator’s SPRINT program to demonstrate LNC technology in Iraq . With WFP funding a six-month pilot, Desert Control (through its regional partner Soyl , formerly Mawarid Desert Control in Abu Dhabi) is working with the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture to treat degraded, arid land at a site managed by the Ministry’s Forestry & Desertification department. The project aims to transform sandy, low-value land into fertile soil for crops by improving water retention and soil health, thereby boosting local food production under drought conditions. This pilot (launched in Q1 2025) will measure outcomes like reduced irrigation needs, improved crop survival, and yield gains as a blueprint for scaling LNC in humanitarian food security efforts.
  • Saudi Partnership (Estidamah Center): In December 2024, Saudi Desert Control (Desert Control’s licensed operator in Saudi Arabia) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Estidamah – the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture R&D in Saudi Arabia. Announced during the UNCCD COP16 conference, this partnership integrates LNC technology into Saudi initiatives for agricultural sustainability in line with Vision 2030. The goal is to leverage LNC as an innovative soil rehabilitation treatment to combat desertification, rehabilitate degraded lands, optimize water usage, and enhance agricultural productivity in the Kingdom. By collaborating on research and pilot projects, Estidamah and Desert Control aim to support long-term food security and climate-resilient farming in Saudi Arabia. (This reflects Desert Control’s growing regional footprint in the Middle East, complementing earlier UAE-based deployments, now extending to Saudi Arabia’s national programs.)

Pilot Projects and Partnerships in the Private Sector

  • Limoneira (Arizona) – From Pilot to Commercial Deployment: Limoneira Company , a large California-based agribusiness, partnered with Desert Control to improve water efficiency on its citrus farms. After two years of pilot trials in Arizona – starting with a 50-tree LNC test in July 2022 and an expanded 20-acre trial in early 2023 – Limoneira saw positive results and moved to full commercial adoption. In January 2024, Limoneira issued a purchase order to apply LNC across 6,652 citrus trees (about 60 acres) at its Yuma, AZ ranch , with deployment completed by April 2024. This marked Desert Control’s first commercial-scale U.S. deployment , underscoring confidence that LNC can boost soil moisture and nutrient retention for higher long-term yields in water-stressed lemon orchards. The rollout is being done in stages (aligned with Limoneira’s fallowing cycles), and company officials noted that LNC has already improved water conservation and soil health in the pilot phase, supporting more sustainable and profitable farming in the desert environment. (Separately, in early 2023 Desert Control also partnered with Yuma Organic, a local grower, on a smaller commercial pilot on the Yuma Mesa , further testing LNC in real-world farming conditions.)
  • Oasis Date (California) – Water-Saving in Date Palm Groves: Desert Control’s U.S. subsidiary entered into a collaboration with Oasis Date , the largest date grower and processor in North America, to conserve water on its date palm farms. After a successful pilot on 13 acres of organic Medjool date palms in July 2024 (which demonstrated improved soil moisture retention and crop performance), Oasis Date agreed to a large-scale deployment of LNC on 160 acres at its Corn Springs Ranch in California. The contract, announced in January 2025, is valued at ~NOK 1.5 million and was scheduled for completion by Q1 2025. This expanded project is a key milestone, indicating Oasis Date’s confidence that LNC can significantly reduce irrigation needs while maintaining or enhancing date yields . Oasis manages over 5,000 acres of date farms (supplying the Natural Delights® brand), and as the world’s first Regenerative Organic Certified® date producer, it sees LNC as aligned with its sustainable farming practices. Desert Control noted that success at this 160-acre ranch could pave the way for broader LNC adoption across Oasis Date’s operations in California and Arizona.
  • Golf Courses – Pay-As-You-Save (PAYS) Contracts: Desert Control has begun breaking into the golf turf management sector via outcome-based partnerships. In November 2024 , the company secured a binding agreement with Berkeley Country Club (California) to deploy its water-saving LNC solution across the club’s entire 18-hole golf course (roughly 40+ acres) under a “Pay-As-You-Save” model. Shortly after, a similar deal was finalized with Woodland Hills Country Club in Los Angeles, making it the first full-scale golf course LNC deployment completed in the U.S. (43 acres treated by April 2025). Under the PAYS model, the clubs incur no upfront cost – instead, Desert Control’s revenue is tied to performance, with the clubs paying out of the water cost savings achieved . For the Woodland Hills project, the contract spans 5 years and is expected to cut irrigation water usage by at least 25% , which could yield Desert Control up to NOK 8.5 million in revenue if savings targets are met. These golf-course pilots are significant because turf irrigation is a heavy water consumer; early results indicate LNC can maintain healthy greens with substantially less water. The successful rollout at Woodland Hills (and the earlier Berkeley CC agreement) demonstrates a new commercial avenue for Desert Control, validating the PAYS business model with recurring revenues based on measured water conservation.

Regulatory and Regional Developments

  • California Water Utility Incentives: In spring 2025, Desert Control’s LNC technology earned official recognition from two of the largest water agencies in the United States – the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) . These agencies approved LNC as an eligible solution under their water conservation incentive programs, meaning clients who implement LNC at scale (e.g. on golf courses, parks or large landscapes) can qualify for substantial rebates. Rebates can cover up to 50% of the installation cost (equipment, materials, labor, etc.), with payments tied to the actual water savings verified over time. Incentives can be paid out for up to 10 years of sustained savings, and in some cases partial payments may be advanced upfront by the utilities. This development – quietly announced in late March 2025 – is a strong third-party validation of LNC’s effectiveness in reducing water consumption. It follows local pilot projects in California where LNC application yielded 25–60% irrigation water savings on turf areas (along with improved turf quality and soil health). By lowering the financial barrier for end-users through public rebates, the inclusion of LNC in MWD/LADWP programs is expected to accelerate its adoption in drought-prone markets like Southern California.
  • Organic Farming Approval: Desert Control’s LNC has also quietly cleared regulatory hurdles for sustainable farming. In 2023 the product received official certification for use in organic agriculture , meaning it meets organic farming standards as a soil amendment. (This certification was noted in a June 2023 update when U.S. federal authorities approved LNC slurry for organic crop production.) The organic approval is significant for niche market expansion – it allows LNC to be used by organic farms and in regenerative agriculture projects, areas that are growing rapidly but weren’t widely aware of this technology. By being listed for organic use, LNC can tap into the fast-growing organic sector as an eco-friendly tool to improve soil fertility and water efficiency without chemicals. This regulatory green light, though not widely publicized, enhances LNC’s appeal to environmentally conscious growers and aligns with global sustainability trends in agriculture.
  • Geographical Expansion Under the Radar: Over the past two years, Desert Control has extended its reach into new regions through low-profile partnerships. In addition to its established presence in the Middle East (UAE) and new foothold in Saudi Arabia via the Estidamah agreement, the company has for the first time entered Iraq (through the UN/WFP-backed pilot) and deepened its operations in North America . The U.S. expansion has gone from small trials to commercial projects in the Desert Southwest (Arizona and Southern California) , including collaborations with local growers and water authorities as noted above. Desert Control’s indirect licensing model is also gaining momentum – its JV/licensed entities like Saudi Desert Control and “Soyl” (Mawarid Desert Control) in the Gulf region contributed to revenue for the first time in late 2024, reflecting a strategy to scale via regional partners. These developments – while not grabbing headlines – indicate that Desert Control’s LNC technology is gradually being adopted in diverse climates and receiving support from regional stakeholders (governments, NGOs, and industry), positioning the company for larger-scale implementations that address desertification and water scarcity globally.
